A group of pro-Beijing protesters held a demonstration against the annual June 4 vigil at Victoria Park on Monday, saying the 1989 Tiananmen massacre never took place.

They said the pro-democracy protesters in Beijing had been filmed dispersing peacefully.

More than 10 members of the Treasure Group took part in the demonstration outside Tin Hau MTR Station.

The protest was held just metres away from the Victoria Park, where preparations were underway for the annual candelight vigil to mark the killings.

They accused he vigil organiser, the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China, of scamming donations from people for 29 years.
