  • Seven arrested over corpse at Zhuhai Macau bridge

Police have arrested five men and two women on suspicion of murder, after a body was discovered at a construction site for the Macau-Zhuhai bridge earlier this month.

Two of the suspects were taken to a flat in Mong Kok on Sunday where police believe the victim was killed before being dumped and wrapped in layers of plastic bags near the airport.

Acting superintendent Tse Tan-san said the dead man is a 30-year-old, surnamed Siu, adding that he knew the suspects and all have a triad background and take drugs.

He said they are still waiting for toxicology reports before they can ascertain the cause of death, but added that two injuries at the back of his head had been caused by a blunt object.

He said following investigations, they believe the seven suspects did not attack the man at the same time, and officers are still investigating their possible roles.

He said they believe the murder was caused by a dispute, but did not elaborate.
