Man Hurls 'corrosive' Fluid At Wife In Tea House

At least seven people were injured on Sunday morning after a man allegedly threw what is believed to be a corrosive liquid at his wife who was working as a waitress in a tea house in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Police say the incident happened just after 11am, when the suspect, a 40-year-old man, allegedly threw the liquid at his wife at the Chinese tea house at the Empire Centre.
Both received injuries to their arms, legs and face.
The restaurant was crowded at the time of the incident and others were hurt after being splashed by the liquid.
Witnesses say they heard the suspect tell police that the liquid was drain cleaner.
They said many people were screaming when the incident took place, and the suspect was caught by a restaurant manager, who was also splashed.
Many of the injured were initially taken to the washrooms, to try to wash the liquid away.
