A women's group said on Friday that Hong Kong is lagging behind when it comes to healthcare for women.

The Ladies Dynamic Association said a 1,000 women survey it carried out revealed a range of health complaints among respondents – from gynaecological problems to mental ailments.

President of the association, lawmaker Alice Mak, said the city has only a few specialised facility to deal with women's issues, unlike Singapore or the mainland.

In Hong Kong, it is the maternal and child healthcare centres which are mostly in charge of this, she said.

Mak said the government should work to establish more specialised clinics for women.
