Andrew Wan talks to RTHK's Jimmy Choi

Democratic Party lawmaker Andrew Wan alleged on Friday that some people are trying to rig a public opinion survey being held by the task force on land supply by answering more than one questionnaire.

Wan said he found out that some people were trying to take several copies of the questionnaire at Admiralty MTR Station on Thursday.

He also said he has come across messages going around on WhatsApp, organising people in the golf sector to fill out more than one questionnaire.

The poll is being carried out by the task force to find out what the public think about 18 options it had proposed for finding land for public housing. People can either fill out the questionnaire online or return a printed copy of it.

Wan also said people could rig the online survey by submitting their answers more than once.

He said while security measures have been used to prevent people from using the same IP address to submit multiple questionnaires, there are clearly ways to circumvent the checks.

He told RTHK's Jimmy Choi that people could easily get 1,000 mobile phone cards and submit 1,000 questionnaires.

Speaking on an RTHK programme on Friday, the chairman of the task force, Stanley Wong, said he noticed that some people took more than one questionnaire on Thursday. He said he would consider limiting questionnaires to one or two per person.
