  • Chu Hoi-dick plays down Junius Ho's 'death threat'

Land Justice League lawmaker Chu Hoi-dick said on Wednesday that he isn't planning to make a police report over an apparent death threat he received from his pro-establishment colleague, Junius Ho.

Ho had accused Chu in a Facebook video of asking supporters to desecrate the tombstones of his parents, demanding the names of those responsible for the vandalism.

Ho also warned the pro-democracy lawmaker that he now has only two paths to choose from, one which involves him staying alive and the other that doesn't.

When asked by reporters whether he would inform the police about the threat, Chu said he wouldn't do so unless and until he feels like his life really is in danger.

"I will not say that it was a death threat, but it was an open threat, and I think everybody can be the witness. And everywhere I go, my fellow citizens are asking for my safety. So I don't think in this short period of time, I am in any possible danger", he said.

Chu added that police officers should instead focus their efforts on investigating the ferocious assaults at Yuen Long MTR Station on Sunday night, as well as whether Ho has any relationship with the attackers.

Ho has faced public anger since a video emerged of him shaking hands with men in white T-shirts on Sunday night who are suspected of being those who viciously beat MTR passengers and passers-by on the late night attack.
