RayNeo and Ant Group have announced a partnership to develop digital payment solutions for global use.

The collaboration will begin with in store payment scenarios, with RayNeo working with Ant Group to explore applications of augmented reality glasses in areas such as everyday services and cross border payments.

RayNeo’s X3 Pro AR glasses are the first to support payments through the Alipay Tap! merchant terminal in China, in addition to scanning Alipay QR codes.

The feature will also be extended to other RayNeo product lines, including the V3 and V3 Slim.

Alipay Tap!, launched by Ant Group in China in 2024, allows users to make payments by tapping an unlocked phone against a merchant terminal or an Alipay Tap! Tag without the need to open an application, scan a code, or navigate screens.

By April 2025 the service had gained more than 100 million users. Integration with AR glasses enables payments to be made hands free.

To make a payment, users link their RayNeo X3 Pro glasses to their Alipay accounts and enable voice verification.

In store, a user can say, “RayNeo, pay 10 RMB.”

The glasses then scan the Alipay QR code or connect with the Alipay Tap! merchant terminal. The transaction is confirmed by voice before completion.

The X3 Pro, launched in May 2025, operates on the RayNeoOS 2.0 system and includes functions such as AI translation, navigation, and AI supported recording.

Payment functions are protected by Alipay’s risk control measures for AR glasses, which verify the authorised user before processing transactions.

RayNeo intends to extend AR glasses payments to international users and merchants through Alipay+, Ant International’s unified wallet gateway service.

Both companies also plan to explore further applications of AR glasses in daily services, including unlocking delivery lockers and paying utility bills, with the goal of making the technology a practical personal tool.
