The government said on Monday that it's adding another 10,000 express rail tickets to the quota from Tuesday, meaning there 30,000 tickets will be available each day.

The extra tickets will be evenly split between north and south bound trains.

The Transport and Housing Bureau said the change is a result of a review with their mainland counterparts and the MTR Corporation about ticket sales and border operations.

The express rail got back on track a little more than two weeks ago after a three-year break because of Covid.
