The Hospital Authority (HA) is relaxing its visiting restrictions for 26 public hospitals as the Covid-19 situation in Hong Kong stabilises.

From Friday, patients at lower risks of infection will be given a one-hour visit each day, with a quota of three registered visitors for each session. But only two of them will be allowed into the ward at the same time.

Lower-risk patients include those under 60 or those who have received at least two doses of Covid vaccination.

Currently, patients are only allowed one to two visits per week under a special visiting arrangement.

For patients at higher risks of infection, such as those with compromised immune systems, they will be allowed two one-hour visits each week, and up to two visitors can register for each slot.

"Having considered the overall epidemic situation and wards operations, the HA has adopted a risk-based strategy and adjusted the visiting arrangements in public hospitals in phases to make it easier for the public to visit patients," an HA spokesperson said.
