The government says around 25,200 people received their first Covid jab on Monday, with about 60 percent opting for the BioNTech vaccine and 40 percent the Sinovac.

Appointment attendance rates were 95 percent and 80 percent respectively.

Health authorities said 12 people went to hospital after being vaccinated, with three admitted for observation and six discharged and three discharged against medical advice.

The vaccination drive is now in its 25th day with 379,600 people vaccinated, equivalent to about 5 percent of the population. Just under two thirds have so far opted for the Sinovac jab.
