The government says it's adding two more Covid-19

mobile vaccination stations

to serve students and people living in public housing estates from Friday.

One of the stations that provides Sinovac jabs will first visit Tai Hing Estate in Tuen Mun, and move to Tin Hau Temple Fung Shui Square in Tai Po and Tin Yiu Estate in Tin Shui Wai later this month.

Another mobile station, which gives the BioNTech vaccine, will stop at Tai Yuen Estate in Tai Po initially, before switching to provide Sinovac shots to students at various schools later in the month.

People can walk-in or make a telephone booking in advance. The hotline for enquiries and bookings is 5193-0375.

Nearly 90 percent of the population have received one dose of a vaccine, while about 77 percent have had two doses.

Patrick Nip, the minister in charge of the vaccination programme, said in a statement on Thursday that with the additional mobile vaccination stations, the government can provide inoculation service to more people in a shorter period of time.

He said officials will closely monitor the situation including the demand for vaccination and make suitable adjustments.

Meanwhile, the civil service chief has completed his home quarantine on Thursday and has since returned to office for work.

A spokesman from the Civil Service Bureau said the minister's rapid antigen tests have all come back negative.

Nip had been undergoing home quarantine since late last month, after his wife came down with the coronavirus.
