Police said on Thursday they seized about HK$25 million worth of suspected meth, and arrested two men in relation to the case.
Officers said they took action on Wednesday after they discovered that a syndicate had stored a large amount of drugs in a residential flat in Hung Hom.
They said 48kg of suspected methamphetamine – disguised as tea – was found in the operation, after they stopped and searched a suspicious-looking man who came out of a flat.
Officers said the man rented the unit to store and distribute the drugs, as instructed by the syndicate.
The second man, who officers believe is the group’s mastermind, was arrested in Ma On Shan.
