Twenty-two people were injured on Friday after a school bus and a private car collided in Sha Tin.

The bus was carrying around 40 students when the accident happened on Tai Chung Kiu Road at around 1pm.

A dashcam video circulating online showed the bus travelling at a very high speed as it passed through an intersection, before crashing into a set of traffic lights and veering off the road onto a nearby cycling track. A huge bang could be heard.

The bus was seriously damaged.

Some injured students sat on the cycling track while waiting to be taken to hospital.

Most of them suffered minor injuries such as scratches to their limbs, while some children were in shock.

They were sent to the Prince of Wales and North District hospitals for treatment.
