Protesters have started throwing bricks at Tseung Kwan O police station, while others have sprayed graffiti on the walls and pelted it with eggs.
Another group has been erecting makeshift barriers near Po Lam MTR station. Both groups splintered off after thousands of people turned out for a march through the area.
Banners were draped over footbridges near the march route, carrying slogans such as "Withdraw the evil law" and "Black police collusion". Some of the banners were hanging so low to the road below that blocked traffic.
Organisers said 150,000 people turned out for the main march in the afternoon, show their anger at the government over the extradition bill saga and a range of issues that have stemmed from it - including police behaviour.
Many protesters said they want to participate because of the police clearance action in Wong Tai Sin on Saturday night, saying they want to protect their neighbourhood.
Clashes erupted between police and protesters - who were joined by angry local residents.
There had been similar scenes in Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, following a largely peaceful protest earlier in the day. More than 20 people were arrested on suspicion of illegal assembly, possession of weapons and assault.
Two months of protests - which began with demonstrations against the now-shelved extradition bill - have seen increasing levels of unrest.
The marches now see people voicing their frustrations over a wider range of of issues, including political reform and allegations of police brutality.
