The national security case involving teenage activist Tony Chung will next be heard at the District Court at the end of the month during which he's expected to enter a plea.

The 19-year-old attended a brief hearing at the West Kowloon Court on Thursday. No bail application was made and he was remanded in custody.

The case is being transferred to a higher court at the request of the prosecutors. The next hearing is slated for the 28th of this month.

In Thursday's hearing, the prosecution rearranged the order of the charges and amended some of the details.

Charge number one has been changed to conspiracy to publish seditious material, followed by one count of secession and two counts of money laundering.

On the seditious material charge, Chung is now accused of committing the acts between April 29 and October 27 last year. Previously, the alleged offences were said to take place from November 30, 2018 to June 9 last year.

He is also accused of organising, planning, committing or participating in acts with other people with a view to commit secession between July 1 and October 27 last year.

Chung was the second person charged under the Beijing-imposed national security law.
