Sources say police will charge a man with theft, for allegedly using the bank card of his girlfriend whom authorities believe he killed in Taiwan.

But since there is no extradition agreement between Hong Kong and Taiwan, the city's authorities are still trying to work out how to deal with the alleged murder.

The 19-year-old man is expected to appear in court on Thursday, and it is believed the prosecution will ask the magistrate to remand him in custody.

Last month, the man travelled with his girlfriend to Taiwan, but he came back alone. The woman's decomposed body was found on Tuesday in bushes in Taipei.
