Traffic was smooth on the Central-Wan Chai Bypass during the morning peak hour on Monday – the first working day since the new road fully opened.
At around 9 am, it took about five minutes for an RTHK reporter to travel from the entrance of the Eastern Corridor in North Point to Rumsey Street in Sheung Wan.
The bypass was partially opened on January 20, but at the time, the westbound carriageway connecting with the Rumsey Street Flyover had yet to be completed.
When the bypass first opened, drivers complained of confusing signs and increased traffic congestion in Central.
