The District Court on Monday found six men guilty of a range of triad-related charges.
They were prosecuted following a police undercover operation that lasted nearly two years and ended in July 2018.
The court heard that the defendants claimed to be part of a triad organisation or invited others to join, with one of them, Cheung Chun-wing, claiming on one occasion to be the leader of the Wo Shing Wo.
Judge Kwok Wai-kin asked for a community service report for the defendants at the request of lawyers, but added that cases like these normally result in a jail sentence.
An arrest warrant was issued for Cheung who didn't show up for the hearing. The others were remanded in custody until sentencing on July 23.
