The pro-Beijing Justice Alliance on Friday delivered 10,000 soft drinks to the police to show their appreciation for the duties undertaken during the anti-extradition protests, and called on officers to "show no mercy" to troublemakers.
The alliance president, Leticia Lee, said the police are true heroes and accused anti-extradition protesters of initiating violent clashes.
"What you can see from the TV, from the screen, we saw the riots and the protesters, they are really fierce, they are brutal, violent," she said. "This is something we really hate to see."
"We back our PC to show no mercy to rioters," Lee said.
Explaining why 10,000 drinks were delivered to the police headquarters in Wan Chai, Lee said 9,999 cartons were for officers and one was for the police chief.
She also said they never criticised the police and want the commissioner to encourage officers because their morale needed boosting to tackle the "coming riots".
