Police have arrested seven more people for alleged unlawful assembly in connection with a series of violent attacks at the Yuen Long MTR station on July 21.
Officers say the men – some of whom have triad backgrounds – were arrested in Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai, Tai Po, Yuen Long, and in one case at the Lok Ma Chau border checkpoint, where one man was trying to leave Hong Kong.
Police have so far arrested 19 people in connection with the attacks, where white-clad men were seen beating up commuters in Yuen Long MTR station.
Some 45 people were arrested in the attacks, which have fuelled a political storm, especially given the slow response of police on the night.
