  • Schools to be given books to boost national education

The Secretary for Education, Christine Choi, on Sunday said the government will distribute books to schools to promote national education, and strengthen students' understanding of the country's history, culture and development.

She added that kindergartens, primary and secondary schools will also get picture books to enhance pupils' understanding of national security.

Speaking at an event at the annual book fair, the minister said youngsters are encouraged to deepen their understanding of the country through reading, adding that she hopes they can become lifelong learners who are committed, have a strong vision for the future, love the country and love their homes.
