Cartoon Carrie Lams and mooncakes were dished out to reporters at the chief executive's weekly press briefing on Tuesday, as the city's top local official wished all Hongkongers a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

The gift bags from the Chief Executive's Office boasted two Maxim's mooncakes, one a lava custard and the other of the traditional lotus paste variety.

There was also a postcard showing a beaming cartoon Carrie standing outside what appeared to be Government House holding a lantern and a mooncake of her own, as children gallivanted around the lawn.

"Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" – Carrie Lam, a message on the reverse of the postcard read.
