Qupital has secured US$300 million in combined financing to support its overseas expansion and further develop its AI risk engine.

The total comprises a Series C round led by Asia-based asset manager M Capital and asset-backed financing commitments from Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) and Quester Capital.

The Hong Kong fintech provides trade financing to cross-border e-commerce businesses.

It uses sales and operational data from platforms such as Amazon, TikTok Shop, Tmall and JD.com to assess borrowers and automate credit decisions.

Qupital said it has processed more than US$9.5 billion in loans and served tens of thousands of businesses to date.

The company plans to increase its financing capacity across China, the United States, Japan and Southeast Asia while investing further in its technology.

It has remained profitable for the past two years and expects its profit margins to exceed 45% within the next 12 months.

“Agentic commerce and social e-commerce are redefining the speed of global trade. AI automation addresses traditional underwriting time lags to deliver higher efficiency and flexibility, and processes massive datasets, which are beyond human capability, to refine credit decisions.

Converting live transactional data into instant trade credit is no longer just an advantage, it is the baseline for the future of digital commerce,”

said Winston Wong, Co-Founder & CEO of Qupital.

Qupital is also considering further fundraising, strategic acquisitions and a potential IPO as it expands its operations and reviews its capital structure.
