Protesters In Wong Tai Sin Also Tear Gassed

Anti-extradition bill protests in Wong Tai Sin on Monday descended into violence and police fired tear gas to try to take control.
A large number of protesters had gathered at the venue at the Wong Tai Sin Plaza.
As the numbers swelled, protesters took over parts of Lung Cheung Road, with some trying to erect barricades on the road.
They were also shouting slogans like “Triad! Triad! Shame on you!” at the police officers.
As riot police approached to clear the crowd, many protesters threw objects at the officers.
Soon, officers fired rounds of tear gas at the protesters, who then retreated back onto the pedestrian pavement.
But a few hours later, at around 6 pm, protesters returned to Lung Cheung Road, sparking a new round of clashes with the police.
Police fired tear gas at demonstrators who threw bricks at officers.
The Wong Tai Sin Disciplined Services Quarters were also targeted.
Protesters were seen throwing bricks at the compound, breaking several windows there. Officers responded by firing tear gas at demonstrators on Shatin Pass Road.
