Anti-government protesters returned to the Hung Hom side of the Cross Harbour Tunnel at around 11pm on Saturday, blocking the entrances and exits for the second time in a day.
The protesters had earlier closed the tunnel for around half an hour after setting up barricades by the toll booths.
But they left relatively quickly the first time, after some among the crowd warned that the action was too dangerous.
Shortly after 11pm, the Transport Department confirmed that all lanes of the tunnel were blocked once again.
Barricades had been strung across the road. But by around 11.20pm, no protesters were in sight and staff were working to clear the road.
All traffic lanes were reopened to traffic at around 11.30pm.
