A University of Hong Kong academic accused of murdering his wife will face an additional charge of preventing the lawful burial of her body, Eastern Court was told on Thursday.
Cheung Kie-chung, an associate professor of mechanical engineering, did not enter a plea during the brief hearing.
The body of his wife was found in a suitcase inside a wooden box in his office in August 2018.
Cheung is due to appear before the court again on July 29, before his case is transferred to the High Court.
