An assistant officer of the Correctional Services Department (CSD) was charged by the ICAC on Monday for allegedly accepting bribes totalling over HK$10,000 for introducing various unauthorised items into the Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre (LCKRC) for a prisoner.
Kam Wing-kan, 34, allegedly accepted three bribes between May and August 2022 for passing various items such as two pairs of spectacles, cigarettes of a brand not specified by the CSD, lighters, notebooks and stationery to inmate Ng Tin-man.
The anti-graft body said all of the items were unauthorised articles, and alleged that Kam had communicated with Ng's sister without proper authority on several occasions and received the items from her.
Ng, 35, and his sister, Ng Lok-ning, 31, were also charged with offering bribes.
