The Civil Human Rights Front says its plan to hold another march this Sunday against the extradition bill has been approved by the police.

The march will start from Victoria Park in Causeway Bay at 3pm to the Court of Final Appeal in Central.

The front said it has picked the city's top court as the final point as it wants the government to set up an independent inquiry, to be led by a judge, to look into the policing of recent extradition protests. It said it believes only such an inquiry can restore peace and calm in society.

“The prioritised demand of this march is to request for an independent inquiry, chaired by a judge. We believe that marching to the statue of Lady Justice at the CFA would emphasise this demand is to uphold the rule of law,” it said.

The group originally planned to hold a rally, instead of a march on Sunday. But it later changed its plan, saying a march would be more appropriate.

It gained the police approval following a meeting with the force on Wednesday. The front said it's expecting to receive a Letter of No Objection to the march from the police in the coming days.
