Police say they've filed six complaints with the Hong Kong Journalists Association, accusing some web media journalists of misconduct and false reporting. The allegations relate to incidents in the past two months.
In one of them, the force accused a Stand News reporter of shouting at officers without a face mask, claiming he was unprofessional to ignore officers' requests to put the mask back on.
Officers said the incident happened during protests in Yuen Long on Sunday, when a group of people gathered to mark a mob attack that took place on July 21 last year.
The force also accused two other web media personnel of "harassing plainclothes officers" by raising their voice to question if they're police, and take close-up pictures of their faces.
Police said the journalists' actions in Central and Yuen Long in mid-June had nothing to do with reporting.
Police said they find it regrettable that "some isolated journalists" lacked professionalism. The force called on the HKJA's ethics committee to handle their complaints in a fair manner.
