  • Police arrest 89-year-old woman for manslaughter

Police have arrested an 89-year-old woman on suspicion of manslaughter after an 85-year-old woman died at an elderly home in Sau Mau Ping.

Early on Thursday evening, police received a report of two women fighting at the home. On arrival, they found that the 85-year-old had collapsed.

She was taken to United Christian Hospital in an unconscious state, where she was declared dead.

Initial investigations suggest the fight may have involved punching, kicking and the use of a pair of slippers.

It's the third death in two years at an elderly home, where a fellow resident has been arrested on suspicion of either manslaughter or murder.
