Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd, announced that its subsidiary, Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance (P&C), launched the global version of EagleX, dubbed EagleX Global Version, on 20 May 2025.

The platform offers users worldwide disaster risk assessments, alerts, and claims services to help them respond better to climate-related disasters.

Back in 2017, Ping An P&C launched EagleX, pioneering the use of advanced technologies such as big data, meteorological disaster models, satellite remote sensing, and machine learning.

The platform uses over 2 trillion data points, including information on geography, disasters, weather, and insurance. It evaluates risks for nine types of natural disasters, such as typhoons and heavy rainfall, and creates easy-to-understand risk maps.

EagleX also offers 15 different alert types. Since its launch, it has been widely used in insurance sectors like agriculture, property, and auto, helping governments, businesses, and individuals reduce disaster-related losses by billions of RMB.

Now, the EagleX Global Version aims to provide governments, businesses, and individuals worldwide with comprehensive, intelligent risk management services. These include early disaster identification, efficient emergency response, and post-disaster claims verification to minimise losses.

The global version has three core functions. Firstly, the platform generates six types of Natural Disaster Risk Maps, including earthquakes, extreme rainfall, typhoons, and floods, with global data coverage. It can assess risks based on specific addresses and supports functions such as risk identification, underwriting, pricing, and loss prevention.

Next, Disaster Alert provides timely warnings by applying extensive meteorological data to monitor, forecast, and analyse multiple types of disasters. Users receive real-time alerts for events such as typhoons, extreme rainfall, floods, and other significant weather conditions.

Finally, Satellite Monitoring integrates global remote sensing data from multiple sources to create a comprehensive digital satellite imaging platform. This platform feature supports remote investigations and claims verification across various business scenarios.

Ping An P&C deploys technologies like big data, cloud computing and Internet of Things to enhance its risk mitigation approach too, offering protection for businesses and individuals alike.
