This year's Art Central fair will open its doors from March 22 to 25 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and organisers are confident of a good turnout.
The fair, billed as a cornerstone event of Hong Kong Art Week, features more than 100 galleries, including 37 from Hong Kong. There will also be tours and workshops about the exhibited artwork.
Highlighted attractions include Chinese artist Yang Yongliang's "Glows in the Night", a video artwork presented on an 18-metre-long LED installation.
There will also be a special exhibition called "Blue Throat - Start The Churning", created by 16 Hong Kong artists about the relationship between individuals and the modern world.
Fair director Corey Andrew Barr on Tuesday said he expects more visitors to the event this year, now that social distancing measures have been lifted.
"In the last two years, Art Central was held with the border essentially closed. We had around 25,000 to 27,000 visitors in those years, and we certainly hope to see more friends this year," he said.
Barr added that the event is perfect to attract tourists to Hong Kong, as it is aimed at both a local and international audience.
