  • One injured in fire at Kwai Chung Container Terminal

A No. 3 alarm fire broke out at Container Terminal 1 in Kwai Chung in the early hours of Thursday morning, leaving one person injured. He refused to go to hospital and was treated at the scene.

The Fire Services Department said the fire broke out at about 1:30 am and was upgraded to a No. 3 alarm ten minutes later in containers that been converted into a two-storey office.

Officials urged members of the public who were being affected by the smoke and an unusual odour carried by the wind to close their doors and windows and stay calm.
