A deputy director at Beijing's Liaison Office, Chou Hong, on Monday thanked a team of mainland experts who've been in Hong Kong to help with the territory-wide Covid-19 testing.

She said they worked so hard they even refused to stop to eat or drink during their long shifts.

Chou also says some of the team decided to postpone their weddings so they could join the efforts.

Chou said this shows the deep friendship between the people of Hong Kong and the mainland.

Around 1.7 million people took part in the scheme, which began on September 1.
