Roundtable lawmaker Michael Tien said on Tuesday that he will decide how to vote on controversial extradition law changes only after hearing whether the government will further amend its proposals.
The pro-government lawmaker also expressed disappointment at the administration's move to sideline the bills committee, saying that the government shouldn't have preempted Legco.
But he didn't back fellow lawmaker Felix Chung's call to change the debate format for the bill at the full council, saying it would be breaking another Legco tradition.
Chung had said that government officials should address concerns raised by each lawmaker instead of officials giving a consolidated answer at the end of the debate as is the practice now.
