Health authorities on Sunday said no Covid-19 cases had been found in three overnight lockdowns in Ma On Shan, North Point and Tung Chung, that have been linked to Cathay Pacific aircrew.

Block 6 of Villa Athena in Ma On Shan was the last to be locked down last night - with the building sealed off at about 10.30 pm. It's the residence of a woman who dined at the Moon Palace restaurant in Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong, and who has since tested preliminary positive. The 50-year-old was at the restaurant last Monday - the same day as a male Cathay Pacific aircrew worker, who is confirmed as having the Omicron variant. Authorities said by 2.30 am they had tested 300 residents with no positive cases.

Authorities also said that about 900 residents of Towers 6 and 7 of Albany Cove at the Caribbean Coast residential development in Tung Chung had been tested with no new cases. It began just after 6.30 pm after a 28-year-old female patient - who is a local aircrew member living in North Point - said she had stayed at a friend's home in the Tung Chung development.

Her North Point home, at the Nam Tin Building on King's Road, was also locked down shortly afterwards with authorities testing around 285 residents with no positive cases.

The 28-year-old had tested negative in Hong Kong on December 22 before leaving on December 24 for the US. She returned to Hong Kong from the US on December 27 and her specimen collected on arrival at the airport also tested negative.

She also tested negative on December 29 but developed symptoms that evening, consulting a doctor the next day. She tested preliminary positive on Saturday. The woman had been double vaccinated with the BioNTech jab in Hong Kong.
