The gates of what is being billed as Asia's largest integrated e-sports stadium will be thrown open to the public on Tuesday.
The venue in Mong Kok that spans 2,300 square metres will be open from 3pm and organisers expect to attract 1.2 million visitors in the first year.
Rates for gamers will range from HK$20 to HK$240 per hour, depending on the gaming area.
Kurt Li, a co-founder of the company behind the stadium, said it will complement a future government-funded e-sports venue that is planned for Cyberport.
"We're planning to hold around more than 100 competitions in this stadium. Our goal is to further develop e-sports in Hong Kong. We also know there will be an e-sport stadium in Cyberport," he said.
"We are not competitors, because we're located in Mong Kok and they're located on the Hong Kong Island side. We would have more synergy with them. Maybe we can hold some competitions together," he said.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam, who attended the new venue's formal opening on Monday, pledged to make things easier for e-sports businesses and promised that her administration will issue guidelines for the sector soon.
