A man died on Sunday morning after he apparently lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a private car in the opposite lane on Shek O Road.

Police said the two vehicles caught fire, and both blazes were put out by firefighters.

The 25-year-old motorcyclist was rushed to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan with serious head injuries, where he was certified dead a short while later.

The 35-year-old car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death, and detained for further investigation, as he had allegedly failed to brake in time and rammed into the motorcycle.
