  • Mother and son dead in suspected murder-suicide

A woman and her nine-year-old son were found dead inside a car in Sha Tin in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police said they found burnt coal inside the locked vehicle, and a suicide note at their home in Ma On Shan.

The case was classified as one of "murder-suicide".

During a press briefing, officers said the woman had been depressed ever since her husband committed suicide last month over financial problems.

They called on members of the public to treasure their lives and seek professional help if they experience hardship.
