China Airlines says at least eight flights between Hong Kong and Taiwan have been cancelled on Saturday due to a strike by its pilots.
The union of the Taiwanese carrier, which started the strike on Friday, has demanded better arrangements and extra manpower for long-haul flights.
But the airline rejected the proposal, saying it would increase costs and undermine the company's competitiveness.
Its management and the union will resume talks on Saturday afternoon to resolve the dispute.
In the meantime, it said Hong Kong Airlines has agreed to add four extra flights between Hong Kong and Taiwan to take the affected passengers.
The Airport Authority said it is closely monitoring the situation, and urged passengers to check the status of their flights before going to the airport.
