Massage Therapist Jailed For Acid Attack On Boss

A Mong Kok massage therapist was jailed for 12 years on Monday for throwing acid over her boss.
Dan Zhaojuan, 50, had pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm, with the attack leaving her employer with burns to her face, neck, upper body and arms, and a damaged nose.
The High Court had heard that Dan and her boss would sometimes to go Macau together to gamble.
But Dan had racked up debts and she carried out the attack after her employer asked her to repay a HK$60,000 loan.
The victim said she felt that she had now become a "zombie" and could not possibly get on with her life following the attack.
Sentencing Dan, Deputy High Court judge Anthony Kwok described her as a "cold-blooded and cruel" woman and added that a deterrent sentence was needed.
