The Consumer Council has warned that many dish-washing detergents contain preservatives which could cause skin problems.
Out of 35 detergents the watchdog tested, about 60 percent contained preservatives that could lead to skin trouble.
It said repeated use of detergents with high concentrations of such preservatives could trigger allergic reactions or even eczema.
Clement Chan, a Consumer Council official, said some of these detergents even claim that they are safe for washing fruit and vegetables.
The watchdog also tested seven e-taxi hailing apps and found that most of them collected far too much information on their passengers.
It said one of the apps only required the phone number and location of a passenger, demonstrating that it is unnecessary for the others to collect further data.
The council said it will refer some cases to the privacy commissioner for follow up action.
