A man has drowned in waters off Silverstrand Beach in Sai Kung.

Emergency services picked up the 45-year-old after police received a report just before 10.30 am. He was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in an unconscious state, where he was declared dead.

Officers also detained two men, aged 47 and 41, from a nearby vessel.

They are suspected of entering the territory illegally and are understood to be fishermen from the mainland.
