A 45-year-old man has died in an alleged hit and run incident in Sham Shui Po. The accident happened on Thursday evening as a heavy goods vehicle was turning right onto Hai Tan Street, from Pei Ho Street.

The man was taken in an unconscious state to caritas Medical Centre where he was declared dead shortly afterwards.

The HGV left the scene and was later located at the junction of Sung Wong Toi Road and Pak Tai Street.

Police arrested the 38-year-old driver, on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death.

He has been detained for enquiries.
