Police said they had arrested a driver over a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long in the early hours on Saturday.

At about 1am, a 56-year-old man was struck by a private car on Tan Kwai Tsuen Lane.

He was rushed unconscious to Tuen Mun Hospital, where he was certified dead.

Officers arrested a 49-year-old driver on suspicion ofdangerous driving causing death and failing to provide a breath specimen.

Police said they were investigating into the accident and the driver is being detained for inquiries.
