Police on Wednesday arrested a man in connection with the unlawful disposal of a dead body in a park in Yau Ma Tei.
Officers said they received a report on Tuesday afternoon that three to four men had carried an unconscious man to the park at the junction of Shanghai Street and Dundas Street.
The unconscious man was later sent to Kwong Wah Hospital where he was declared dead.
The deceased, 48, did not sustain obvious injuries, but there were punctures on his neck and right calf. An autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of his death.
At a press briefing, assistant district commander, Gar Kam-lam, said officers arrested the suspect from a flat on Shanghai Street on suspicion of preventing lawful burial of a dead body.
Gar said officers also found a large quantity of tools for drug-taking, as well as some drug residue inside the unit.
The 14 people in the flat at the time were also arrested on suspicion of taking drug.
