Police have arrested a lorry driver on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death after an elderly woman was run over in Tuen Mun.

The vehicle involved left the scene after the accident at around 9am on Monday morning, at the junction of Shun Tat Street and Castle Peak Road.

Officers said the lorry hit the woman as she was pushing a trolley across a pedestrian crossing. The traffic light is believed to have been on green at the time.

Inspector Ho Tai-yin from the New Territories North traffic unit said officers found the suspect after examining CCTV footage.
