  • Lam Cheuk-ting urges KMB to reinstate part-timers

The Democratic Party's Lam Cheuk-ting

Ahead of Monday's talks between KMB and a newly formed drivers' group to resolve a pay dispute, the firm insisted a new salary structure that's already in place, has the backing of two major unions representing a majority of staff.

Meanwhile, KMB has been urged to resume assigning work to its part-time drivers, which was suspended in the wake of the fatal Tai Po bus crash.

The drivers say they've now been asked to become contract staff.

Democratic Party legislator Lam Cheuk-ting, who’s helping the drivers, said the arrangement is unfair.
