A group of karate athletes and coaches say they are unhappy about a decision by the Olympic Committee of Hong Kong to merely issue a warning to the local Karatedo Federation, rather than suspending its membership.
That is despite complaints that it had unreasonably terminated athletes' membership and had been operating without transparency.
The Karatedo Federation of Hong Kong is the only recognised body funded by the government to hold events and tournaments.
The athletes and coaches met with the Hong Kong Olympic Committee on Wednesday to ask it to put pressure on the federation.
"We exchanged our opinion and there was no solid outcome," said Karate coach Robert Tang.
Concerns had been raised about selection for major tournaments and conflicts of interest involving referees.
