The Hong Kong Journalists Association (HKJA) has condemned protesters who damaged a TVB News vehicle in Wong Tai Sin on Monday and obstructed the broadcaster's journalists from carrying out their duties.

Cars belonging to the TV station have been damaged in a number of districts during recent protests, with TVB often accused of being biased in favour of the government.

The HKJA issued a statement criticising violence against journalists.

It said society should respect reporters who have a duty to work on the front line.

It also urged the police to follow up on acts of violence against media workers.

The association had issued a similar statement regarding attacks on TVB journalists in June.
